{"id":1840,"date":"2018-04-12T11:37:55","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T11:37:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/navsadhana.org.in\/?p=1840"},"modified":"2018-04-12T11:37:55","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T11:37:55","slug":"re-imagining-education-for-the-21st-century","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/navsadhana.org.in\/?p=1840","title":{"rendered":"RE-IMAGINING EDUCATION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four days in-service programme for the teachers of the Diocese of Varanasi\u00a0 was conducted at Nav Sadhna, the Regional Pastoral Centre from 5<sup>th<\/sup> April to 8<sup>th<\/sup> April\u00a0 2018. In these four days every teacher\u00a0 from the English Medium school got an opportunity to attend a full day Programme to reflect and equip oneself to be an effective Teacher.\u00a0\u00a0 The resource person for the programme was Prof. Fr. Dr. Paul Pudussery, a renowned C.S.C priest from Agarthala. The main focus of the programme was RE-IMAGINING EDUCATION FOR THE 21<sup>ST<\/sup> CENTURY.<\/p>\n<p>He, in his presentation\u00a0 emphasized on transforming school environment into a learning environment in which the teachers have to be learners, leaders, collaborators, designers, facilitators, and analysts. He appealed the teachers to imbibe the life skills such as thinking, social and coping skills so that we are able to cope up with stress as well as with emotions of the students. In order to promote the conceptual changes the teachers must<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the existing misconceptions.<\/li>\n<li>Convince the students.<\/li>\n<li>Respect their self- esteem.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to monitor them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For doing so, teachers should certainly know what has motivated us to take up the teaching profession. The four day workshop was well attended by the selected teachers from 16 schools from eight districts. They were all together 807 in number. The teachers stated that the workshop was innovative, enlightening and challenging to explore, explain, engage, experience and enlivening. The interactive session left a great impact on teachers and directed them to see the teaching learning process in a dynamic way.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1
