FORMATION OF FORMATORS IN NORTH INDIA

“The course was inspiring, enriching, enlightening, practical, systematic, clear, easy to understand, active, helpful and challenging”, stated Sr. Rosemary, SND at the end of the course held from Feb. 21 to 27, 2016, conducted by Rev.Dr. Joe Mannath, SDB, a veteran counselor, internationally acclaimed animator for seminar and workshop on formation ministry. He is also well known author. His famous book is “A RADICALLOVE – A PATH OF LIGHT” – THE BEAUTY AND BURDEN OF RELIGIOUS LIFE. The course covered the topics such as The Right Atmosphere for Growth, Integral Formation: Aspects, Essential Qualities of Formators, Growing Up in Fear, Formation: Lessons from Experience, Tips for Formators, Psycho-Sexual Integration, Homes of Love, Celibate Friendship, Formation for Celibacy: Stakeholders and Roles, The Ten Best Helps for a Happy Celibate Life. On the last day Sr. Imelda, SRA, shared her experience on Mission Spirituality, as she was a formator cum missionary in North India for more than 40 years. Sr. Philomena, SAP, pointed that she learnt the following lessons for life from the talks: Not to complicate life, but to live the simple message of the simple Jesus; Not to complicate prayer, but prayer be ‘loving’; speak frankly with respect, love and truth, be true to self, formator’s task is to start from where the formee is to the Gospel values; as a formator every one is a facilitator, God is incharge. The participants came from all over North India: Jaipur, Lucknow, Agra, Jhansi, Ajmer, New Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Bhopal, Indore, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Jalandhar, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Jabalpur, Varanasi and Gurhgaon. All the participants were extremely happy with the fellowship and friendship, amity and comity of the staff and participants, calm and congenial atmosphere of the campus. They were delighted to have delicious dishes prepared with love by the maids.
