RETREAT FOR PRIESTS

August 22-26, 2016

“The retreat was practical, effective and personally meaningful to the participants”, stated Fr.William Fernandes after having attended at Nav Sadhana the Retreat of Rev. Fr. George Stephen, SJ, from August 22 to 26, 2016. It has been mostly based on his life experience and reflections on it along with his practicality and simplicity of life. It has been different from other retreats. It has been more insightful, enlightening, and inspiring because of the life-examples. The theme of the Retreat was BE FRUITFUL. He started the talk stating that “there are two prerequisites for a good retreat: one is the great desire to have a personal experience and the other is openness.” He spoke on love and compassion, sin and conversion, priesthood and sacraments, relationship and happiness, awareness and realization, freedom and fidelity. In his final day he stated, “If we really want to be followers of Jesus, it is imperative that we have a personal experience of Jesus. To become a Catholic, one is initiated through baptism. To become a Jesuit one enters the Novitiate, and then goes on to learn Philosophy, Theology and other subjects. To become a follower of Jesus, all that is needed is a personal experience of Jesus.”The Retreat commenced on Aug. 22 and ended on Aug. 26 at 4.30 p.m. All enjoyed the hospitality, cordiality, amity and comity of the staff of Nav Sadhana and returned to their respective places with renewed vigour and vitality to work in the vineyard of the Lord.
