MOTHER TERESA DAY CELEBRATION

September 4, 2016

At the chirping of birds and music of the day at 5.30 a.m. the inmates of Nav Sadhana got up cheerfully to celebrate the Mother Teresa Day with a special Eucharist in the main chapel of Nav Sadhana on Sept. 4, 2016 at 6.30 a.m. It began with the lauds and followed by the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, which commenced at 7.00 a.m. with procession carrying the portrait of Mother Teresa with the lit candles. It was placed at the side altar beautifully decorated mount. It was garlanded by Rev.Fr.Sylvester Minj. All members present in the chapel offered floral offering and venerated the Mother Teresa. Life sketch of Mother Teresa was presented by Ms. Jenifer. A scintillating dance was performed by Ms. Celina and Ms. Regina. The main celebrant of the Eucharist was Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian, who broke the WORD OF GOD after the Gospel reading. He explained the cost of discipleship (Lk. 14:25-35): The need of loving the Lord Jesus Christ more than all the beloved ones on earth, carrying the  cross along with Him living in the world; sacrificing and detaching from the worldly things, which have been found in the life of Mother Teresa. It is an apt reading on the occasion of the canonization of Mother Teresa as Saint Teresa of Kolkata. Prayers of faithful were offered through the intercession of the Blessed Teresa by Sr. Usha and melodious singing was done by the Sanjeevani Choir.  The celebration came to an end with distribution of sweets. The students also watched the canonization ceremony of Mother Teresa celebrated at the Vatican City at 1.00 p.m. (Indian Time).
