The Course on Accountancy and Book-Keeping was held from January 16-18, 2019 at NavSadhana. It was held for priests and religious who were interested in learning the basics of Accountancy and finance. 11 priests, 21 sisters, and 01 brothers took an active part in this seminar.
At the end of the course the participants were able to understand fundamental accounting concepts as well as to read and extract meaningful information from financial statements; develop and understand the nature and purpose of financial statements in relationship to decision making; develop the ability to use the fundamental accounting equation to analyze the effect of transactions on an organization’s accounting records and financial statements; develop the ability to use a basic accounting system to create (record, classify, and summarize) the data needed to solve a variety of problems; develop the ability to use accounting concepts, principles, and frameworks to analyze and effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences; develop the ability to use accounting information to solve a variety of business problems.
The Resource Person for this course was Rev. Fr. Joseph, CMI, M.Com, C.A. well qualified in the field of Accountancy. He dealt on the following topics: Meaning and Scope of Accounting; Accounting Principles; Journalizing Transactions; Ledger Posting and Trial Balance; Final Accounts; Single Entry System and the second day was dedicated to Tally.
