The Diocesan Annual Missionary meeting was well attended by the catechetical workers and teachers, priests and religious of the diocese on 18th and 19th July 2019. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the catechetical activities of the diocese as well as to have an orientation and motivation for the missionary activities and to regain the missionary zeal and zest in the persons. The meeting began on 18th of July at 9.30 am with a Bible Procession. The Holy Bible was brought to the dais in procession by the SRA sisters. It was received, garlanded and revered by Rt. Rev. Eugene Joseph, Bishop of Varanasi. Fr. Richard Monteiro conducted the prayer service and reminded the participants to practice the virtue of humility and also carry with them the missionary kit. Rt. Rev. Eugene Joseph Bishop of Varanasi introduced Fr. Louis Prakash SJ, the resource person and the topic of the meeting.
On behalf of the Bishop, Fr. S. Joseph, the Director of Diocesan Social Communication, thanked the team and the audience. On the second day, Fr. Louis Prakash led the participants on the theme of “Prophetic Mission of proclaiming the Good news of the Lord”. He said, “Every one of the baptized should feel involved in the ecclesial and social change that we so greatly need”. (The participants were all together 150 in number). There were 150 participants in all. All of them were re-energized and re-motivated to continue the mission of the Lord.
They were also happy and expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and cordiality of the Director and staff of NavSadhana as well as for the well conducted missionary meeting by Most Rev. Eugene Joseph, Bishop of Varanasi.
