A course on EFFECTIVE USE OF LAW IN SOCIAL WORK AND PASTORAL MINISTRY was conducted in Nav Sadhana from March 11 to 16, 2012. The Resource Persons were Sr. Jessy Kurian, SA, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Delhi and Sr. Sheeba, UMI, Advocate, High Court of U.P., Allahabad. They shared their wealth of knowledge and experience based on the Indian Law. The topics dealt were Indian Constitutions and its Spirit and Spirituality, Fundamental Rights, Civil Rights Criminal Procedures, and Law of TORTS, etc. There were 15 participants: Nine Youths, Three Sisters and Three Priests from different states of India such as U.P., Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim. The course began with Eucharistic celebration by Rev.Dr. V.Sebastian, Programme Coordinator followed by the introduction of the Resource Persons and participants as well as briefing of the course and Nav Sadhana Campus staff and their administrative roles in day-to-day running of the institution.
The participants realized the importance, usefulness and significance of the Indian Law in their daily life. The course has made them to understand the rights and duties of the individuals. They felt that the classes were very informative, simple, graspable and clear through the practical examples given by the resource persons on various topics; It is very useful and effective in their social work and pastoral ministry. They have also appreciated the homely atmosphere and hospitality rendered to them by the Nav Sadhana Staff and domestic helpers. Praised be the Lord Jesus Christ.
