MISSIONARY MEETING
A missionary meeting of the Diocese of Varanasi was held in Nav Sadhana under the guidance of Most Rev. Raphy Manjaly, Bishop of Varanasi from July 11 to 12, 2012. It was well attended by the Diocesan and Religious Priests and Sisters working in the diocese. They were all together 145 in number.
The meeting started with a Recollection Talk on “Mission Today” given by Fr.Vineet, an enthusiastic, dynamic and visionary priest. It was highly appreciated by the priests and nuns. The second session was on “Year of Faith” as enlightened by the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI as the coming year will be celebrated as the year of faith. Most Rev. Raphy Manjaly highlighted the salient points of year of faith stressing on Faith in God, Religious Faith, Faith is precious; it removes anxiety and fear and gives peace and tranquility; Faith makes us to move ahead. Faith can be strengthened and protected by prayer, creative use of crisis and suffering and living in and with the support of a faith community.
In the third session there were reflections and sharing on how to strengthen faith through Evangelical, Youth, Family, Laity, Prison ministries as well as through School Catechism and Altar Servers, which was followed by group discussion and reports of it.
On the second day there was input on “Boarding Care in the Present Scenario”, in which it was emphasized the need of love, kindness, patience and understanding to care for the boarders and to implant faith. The meeting was concluded with a happy note of living together and with determination to live and to share with faith others. All were grateful to Director and Staff of Nav Sadhana and their helpers for their relentless support for the success of the missionary meeting.
