This course consisted of two parts: 1. Proclamation in North Indian Situation; 2. Paul Course and Leadership Formation Programme. The first part was conducted by Fr.Dr.Sadanand V., Acharya of ‘Yeshudham’ Ashram in Jhansi from Sept.3 to 8, 2013. He explained that one of the popular ways and means of proclamation of the Word of God in India is through ashrams, where Guru resides and shishya listens, who are the adherents of various religions in India. One of the participants stated that his life was more edifying and witnessing to the Lord. He emphazised that to proclaim and to evangelize others, the preacher or evangelizer needs to be immersed in the word of God. He shared his knowledge and faith on Divine Mercy and on the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Life of Mother Theresa, St.Jude, etc. Another method of gathering is inter-faith dialogue and prayer meetings to share the spiritual experiences and insights to live in harmony and peace. Finally he encouraged the participants to be agents of the Good News of the Lord and societal transformation.
The second part was on Paul Course and Leadership Formation Programme, which was conducted from Sept. 9 to 15, 2013 by Fr.Raju Mathew, founder of Kononia Jivan Jyoti Centre at Meghanagar, India. He emphasized to imbibe the spirit, enthusiasm, zeal, zest, interest of St.Paul to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ and to evangelize the people of God, who do not know yet Christ, who is the Redeemer, Saviour, Lord and Master of the universe. He insisted that for new evangelization we need to have new zeal and to adopt new method and new expression. His teaching was more practical besides enlightening the various methods of evangelization. He gave importance for reading and understanding the Word of God/Bible. He said: “We have made people catholic, but we need to make them Christian.” It is done through personal and community prayer, sharing and caring for one another, unity in faith and solidarity in life. He further explained stating that as the Father sent the Son Jesus Christ, who sent the apostles, now the Christians are sent to proclaim the Good News of the Lord to all till the end of the world in season and out of season.
The participants had accolade for the prevailing atmosphere and participant-friendly nature of the Director and the staff of Nav Sadhana. They appreciated maintenance of the green and clean campus as well as expressed gratitude for the delicious food prepared out of love and care for their better participation and physical growth.
