Feb. 12 to 16, 2012
Nav Sadhana conducted a Refresher Course for Formators working in North India from Feb. 12 to 16, 2012. The Resource Person was Sr. David Delaney, CSJ, an experienced person in formation and well versed in effective communication. She focused on “TOWARDS A NEW APPROACH TO FORMATION IN THE THIRD MILLENNIUM”. She, with her eminent and dynamic personality, highlighted in her sessions the problems connected with formation, its faith perspective, its goal, recruitment and areas of formation. She threw light on Human, Spiritual, Intellectual, and Cultural Formation in Mission, Leadership Training, Community and Formators. The participants felt that the whole course enabled them to be effective formators and empowered persons as they are in the world, where money, media and technology explosions have come to define the contemporary age; where the realities such as globalization, liberalization, privatization, individualism fundamentalism, communalism, consumerism, and terrorism are encountered in daily life. She stressed the need of paradigm shift in formation and religious life. She also dealt with psycho-spiritual perspective in formation. She shared her vast experiential knowledge and faith with conviction.
She articulated without mincing words that all are called to be ex-officio followers of Christ as all are dealing with the millennial generation. The formators need to be alive, active and alert in facing the challenges of formation in the multicultural context today. The Twenty One participants felt that they have been enlivened to be ‘souls on fire’ and be the ‘wind beneath the wings of the formees’. They have also realized that the formation is ‘caught and not taught’ and its orientation must be a vital process that centered on the Person of Christ the Lord for transformation, transparency, transfiguration and transcendence. All departed with the renewed energy and enthusiasm to work in their respective formation houses. All of them expressed their gratitude to the Nav Sadhana Staff for providing homely atmosphere and healthy and hot food as well as for their hospitality and cordiality, amity and comity.
