EXPOSURE TO INDIAN CULTURE AND RELIGIONSTO STUDENTS OF LEUVEN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY Jan. 24-31, 2014

The students of Leuven Catholic University under the guidance of Prof. Bert Broeckaert were brought to NavSadhana and had lectures on the following topics:

  1. The Sacred Geography of Varanasi by Prof. Rana Singh;
  2. Poverty and Social Projects in India by Dr.Fr.Amalraj C. and visit to the village;
  3. Buddhism by Dr.RajeshKumarJha.

According to the topics of the day they visited the Hindu Temples such as VishvanathMandir, SankatMochan, and other Mandirs in Varanasi, Christian Centres such as Matridham Ashram to know about the KhristBhakta movement, NavVani – Deaf and Dumb children, JeevanJyoti – Blind children and saw the Bible Exhibition in the Cathedral; They enjoyed the cultural programme put up by the students of NavSadhana Kala Kendra, Varanasi on the occasion of the Republic Day of India on Jan. 26, 2014.

At the end of their stay in NavSadhana Prof. Bert expressed his profound gratitude for the homely atmosphere provided and for cordiality and hospitality, amity and comity experienced from the Director and staff of NavSadhana. It was stated that food was tasty and delicious. We appreciate their disciplined and dedicated life, punctuality and promptness, responsible and reliable behavior pattern. They departed to Bodhgaya, Bihar on Jan. 31, 2014.
