CHURCH HISTORY FOR NOVICES February 23 – March 1, 2014

“It is impossible to understand the past unless we understand the things, for which the men and women of the past cared most”, stated Rev.Fr. Jyotilal, IMS, Provincial and Resource Person for the course on Church History conducted from Feb. 23 to Mar. 1, 2014. He further stated that the study of the Church History did not mean only to learn and to remain in the glory of the past, but to create a new history through the inspiration of the holy men and women, who stood firm for their faith in times of persecutions and heresies. The Catholic Church continues to survive and thrive only because of the faithful, dedicated, disciplined, devoted followers of Christ, who unceasingly bear witness to Him even shedding their blood and sacrificing their life, who are the salt of the earth and light of the world (Mt. 5:13-16). Novices Sowmya and Selvi FMM stated that the sessions were helpful, graspable, enlightening, edifying, enlivening, interesting and even challenging to live a life of authentic Disciples of Christ. The novices were extremely grateful to the Director, Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian and his team for their cordial, friendly and homely atmosphere provided to them with delicious dishes and comfortable stay to have a living together of inter-congregational peer group. The participants were from FMM, HC, LST, MSJ, OSF, SPG and SCC congregations. They returned with many happy memories. Thanks be to God.
