Indian National Secular Forum had conducted its 13th National convention at NavSadhana, Varanasi from March 23 to 24, 2014. It was the joint efforts of Centre for Harmony and Peace, Jan MitraNyas, Oxfam India, HRLN and Indian Social Institute. The convener of the convention was Dr. Mohammad Arif, U.P. Chapter Convener along with the National Convener Dr.L.S.Hardenia and National Secretary, Prof. Ram Puniyani. Addressing the participants, who were 60 in number, Prof. Ram Puniyani stated that fascism, fanaticism, fundamentalism, terrorism, violence and intimidation are promoted by a certain groups of Indians, which are dangerous, heinous and threat to secularism and democracy of the Indian Nation. Hence, the intellectuals of secular and Ghandian nature and thought should create awareness among the people to eradicate the above mentioned forces of the society and nation to make India peaceful and harmonious, co-inhabitable nation with diversity of religion, culture, language and region with respect human rights and duties of the citizens. The other speakers were Prof. ShahinaRzvi, Prof. AnandDipayan, Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, Adv. Irfan Engineer, Dr. SatinathChoudhury, Sr. Shanti, Mr.M.Jafar and Mr. S.Q. Masood. The meeting was chaired by Dr.L.S.Hardenia. The delegates were from 12 states of India. They had appreciation of the forum-endeavours and commitment. They were also extremely happy about the accommodation and service rendered by the Director and staff of NavSadhana for the successful conclusion of the convention.
