“Eucharist is the centre of priestly life, source and summit of Christian life”, stated Rev.Fr. Louis Adaikalasamy, SJ, addressing the presbyterium of the diocese of Varanasi during the recollection preparing the priests for the Chrism Mass on April 9, 2014. He shared his reflections on priestly mission, priestly commitment, and sacerdotal sacramental life. His inputs contained profound theology, in-depth spirituality, practical sagacity; Priestly Eucharistic life involves sacrifice and service with love and charity. It calls for unity and universality, solidarity, co-operation and collaboration. The Chrism Mass was officiated by Most Rev.Dr. RaphyManjaly, Bishop of Allahabad in the Cathedral at 5.30p.m. On the next day, i.e April 10, 2014 the directors of various apostolic ministry and commissions of the diocese placed before the clergy their activities, problems and challenges in carrying out their task and responsibility on the invitation of Msgr. Eugene J., Diocesan Administrator. The clergy meeting was concluded by the celebration of Eucharist by the Sacerdotal Silver Jubilarian, Rev.Fr.Aloysius Lewis followed by the sumptuous dinner.
