“Little by little, Christ transforms and transfigures all the rebellious and contradictory forces in us… Our troubled, uninhabited unbelieving depths are transfigured…It is possible to assure certain people who are convinced that their lives are failures that, in the heart of God, Nothing is lost”, stated Most Rev.ThomasMenamparampil, Retreat Preacher, quoting Bro. Roger of Taise’s message at the beginning of the retreat, which was held at NavSadhana from August 18 – 22, 2014. He stressed also the interior and exterior silence to encounter God during this retreat period. He further stated that “Rulers see through spies, as cows through smell. Brahmins through Scriptures and the rest of the people through their normal eyes”, quotingKautilya. Similarly he exhorted that the priests are to be recognized through the word of God. Throughout the retreat he insisted on depth of faith and depth in relationship with God and humans, which will lead to take up responsibility as a priest to work for the Kingdom of God.
The participants appreciated the pastoral and priestly dimension of the talks and sessions. The preacher has been simple and articulate, practical with sagacity. They were also grateful to the Director and staff of NavSadhana for their relentless service, serene campus, spacious rooms for accommodation and delicious dishes. The cordiality and hospitality of NavSadhana would be ever remembered, stated one of the Retreatants.
