The course meant for catechists and catechetical sisters working in North India began with the inaugural session on Sept. 1, 2014 at 6.30 p.m. The first part of the course was on PROCLAMATION IN NORTH INDIAN SITUATION from Sept. 2 to 5, 2014. The resource person was Rev.Fr.Vineet, who is a pioneer of Ashram in Muhammadabad, Azamgarh Dt. He threw light on Jesus Christ and His Kingdom as the subject of proclamation, need and necessity of proclamation, means of proclamation and socio-political, economic-cultural and religious milieu of North India for proclamation. His input was biblical and contextualized based on the life experience. The second part of the course was PHILIP COURSE AND TESTIMONY COURSE conducted by Rev.Fr.Raju Mathew and his team from Sept. 6 to 10, 2014. He began the course with the reading of the Ethiopian Eunuch episode in Acts 8:26-40 and drew insights from it for the evangelical life of the preachers and catechists as the chosen people of God to carry out the task of evangelization. He stressed on God’s love, Sin, Salvation in Jesus, Faith and Conversion, The Holy Spirit and Christian Community.
The participants expressed that they had benefitted from the course; Method adopted was theory and practical; It was lively, simple, interesting, thought provoking and enlightening. Mr.Bechu John Master said that it strengthened his spiritual life and enthused them to bear witness to Christ as his follower. They have been grateful to the Director and staff, especially to the domestic helpers for the delicious dishes and timely food as well as spacious accommodation with a sense of cordiality and hospitality. They returned to their respective places with a heart full of joy and satisfaction. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.
