The members of CBCI Council for Youth and Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) under the guidance of National Director for Youth Ministry, Rev.Fr.Franklin D’Souza and Regional Youth Director of Agra Ecclesiastical Province, Rev.Fr.ArchibaldD’Silva gathered to participate in the 38th National Council Meeting – 2014 and 18th National Youth Award at NavSadhana from Sept. 15 to 18, 2014. The theme was TOUCHED BY JESUS, WALKING HIS WAY. The National Council was inaugurated by Most Rev. Vincent Mar Paulose, Bishop of Marthandom and member bishop of CBCI Council for youth. Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian, Director of NavSadhana, Fr.CharlesMenezes, YCS/YSM National Chaplain, Fr.Franklin D’Souza, of ICYM, Fr.ArchibaldD’Silva and Mr. Raymond D’Souza, Advisory Council Member of ICYM were present for the meeting. Mr. Suresh Rao, National President of ICYM welcomed all. Ms. Olivia Fleming, National Vice President proposed the vote of thanks.
During the Council Meeting, Ms. Mary Jemcy, General Secretary of ICYM, presented the minutes of 37th National Council meeting, which was held at Nagpur. The meeting discussed all the concerning matters, related with the movement, and took some concrete decisions. With healthy discussions, the Council meeting concluded on 17th afternoon. During the sessions Fr.Franklin and Mr. Raymond kept all engaged and interested with a whole array of jokes and anecdotes spicing them up with quips and quotes that were both challenging and thought – provoking. Then 18th National Youth Award ceremony was held at Milan Hall at NavSadhana. Most Rev. Vincent Mar Paulose, Fr.Charles, Fr.V.Sebastian, Mr. Raymond, Mr. Sudhirhonoured the awardees from 11 regions of India. During the award Ceremony the students of NavSadhana presented a prayer dance, mime and colourful cultural dance. The students of NavSadhana Kala Kendra received accolade for their performance. All went for Benares Darshan on on Sept. 18, 2014 sponsored by Mr. Sudhir, Manager of Marina Publications. Members from 13 regions were present for the council. They were extremely happy about the organization, arrangement, ambrosian meals and comfortable stay. They enjoyed the amity and comity of youths, Director and staff of NavSadhana.
