Multi Religious Prayer Summit was organized by the Pontifical Council for Inter Religious (PCID), Catholic Bishops, conference of India (CBCI), Diocese of Varanasi on Feb 14-16, 2015. The theme was Celebrating Diversity of Religions to Foster a World of Peace and Love. The reception was held in Nav Sadhana Regional Pastoral Centre, Varanasi, and U.P on Feb 14, 2015.Rev.Fr.Indunil J.Kodithuwakku, Undersecratary, PCID , Fr.M.Santiago, official, PCID, Most Rev.Thomas Dabre, Member PCID, Most Rev. Albert D’Souza, Secretary General, CBCI, Most Rev. Felix Machado, Chairman CBCI Commission for Inter Religious Dialogue had reception in the unique manner by the Nav Sadhana. Civil dignitaries of the City, Important speakers of religious leaders of the various religions were present and they were also given apt welcome. Priests, sisters, novices, seminarians and lay people were present to witness the great event.
Prayer Dance by Nav Sadhana, welcome dance by Amar Vani of Tajopur and semi classical dance on religious unity by Nav Vani were performed and well appreciated by the dignitaries and audience. Msgr.Eugene J. gave words of welcome to all. Fr.Santiago introduced the dignitaries from the ecclesiastical circle. Fr.Chandrakant introduced the speakers of the different religions, as well as civil authorities and dignitaries. In his speech Rev.Fr.Indunil J.Kodithuwakku, Undersecretary , PCID., introduced the theme and threw light on the “Nostra Aetate”. He highly praised the organizers for their impressive ceremony and program of the day.
Every speaker focused the theme of lov, unity and peace through Inter Religious Dialogue keeping in mind respect for one’s faith and dignity of every human and his /her religion.
Wonderful vote of thanks was given by Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian, Director and Principal of the Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra College, which was terse and to the point as well as appreciated by all.
