IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR TEACHERS
April 24-25, 2015
The theme of the training programme for teachers organized by Msgr. Eugene Joseph, Administrator, Varanasi Diocese, was ENGLISH FOR CLASSROOM COMMUNICATION; it was conducted from April 24 to 25, 2015 at Nav Sadhana. The Resource Persons were Mr. Rajeevan Karal and Mrs. Shefali Ray. Initially they imparted knowledge on: What is communication? Why teach communication skills? What are communication skills? Why is fluency? Why are students poor at communication skills? What do we teach by way of communication skills? What approach do we adopt in teaching communication? They expanded it with practical session and video screening. The stress was levied on communication with focus and fluency as well as listening attentively. The method used was lecturing, interactive, video clipping and group discussion. The participants appreciated the methodology and effective communication of the resource persons. It was simple, graspable and practical. All returned with a happy memory of their fruitful stay at Nav Sadhana. They expressed gratitude to the director and staff of Nav Sadhana for their co-operation, collaboration and maintaining clean, green campus.
